Full Name: Marcus Shadowclaw
Nick Name: Wraith
Gender: Male
Race: Dragon
Age: 523 (Appears to be between 19 and 21 years of age)
Appearance
Hair Color/Style/Texture: Dark gray/ short, military-style haircut/ thick, is very curly when it gets longer than an inch or so
Eye Color: Turquoise
Skin Color: Human- Tan
Dragon- Dark gray scales over most of his body, though silvery-gray scales on his belly. Wings are a silver color, lighter underneath than on top. Talons are black, though his teeth/fangs are bright white.
Height: 5’11”
Clothing: Normal circumstances- Black combat boots, thick black pants (Kevlar sewn into parts), thick black jacket with collar covering neck (Kevlar and thin armor plates sewn in). Sometimes wears a hood covering most of his head, leaving just a strip for him to see out of.
Build: Human form- Wiry, tending toward skinny, but there’s definitely muscle. Runner’s build
Dragon form- Forty-two feet long from nose to tail, with a twenty-eight foot wingspan; small spines down his back that lay flat when he’s calm, but stick up a bit when agitated. Long, spike-like spines on each side of his tail.
Markings: Paper-thin scar running from above his right eye, diagonally down across the bridge of his nose, terminating beneath his left eye. Is seen in both forms.
Powers: Marcus has never really concentrated overly much in his physical strength, preferring his agility and mind for solving problems and fighting. He greatly values his privacy and mostly prefers to go unnoticed in his activities, thus leading to him learning everything he could about stealth and sealing his mind. He is more attuned to the strength of his mind than that of his magic, and so the effects of his magic tend to resemble telekinesis for those unused to the way he handles himself and his abilities. He’s had a few rough scrapes in the past, and studied a great deal in how to keep himself and those around him alive. This resulted in his already accelerated healing being enhanced even further through his manipulation of the natural healing properties of his blood, allowing him to recover from wounds even faster, though he still has to be careful. He can only breath fire when in his dragon form, though his fire magic more than makes up for it.
Agility, Sight, Speed, Hearing, Elemental Magic:Fire/Air, Healing, Regeneration, Invisibility (lvl 2), Telepathy (lvl 1), Dragon Sight, Dragon Fire, Draconic Resistance
Origin: Southeastern North America
Personality: Normally calm and quiet, Marcus is one of those that stands on the border between the social butterflies and the anti-social outcasts. Cautious by nature, he’s also extraordinarily patient, with a temperament that is unusually calm for his race. He keeps his temper in check most of the time, though woe to them that manage the feat of making him angry, and it’s best to find a body bag when he enters what he refers to as ‘battle calm’: the state in which he pushes past all of the anger that is swirling around him to the eye at the center of the conflict, where he can draw on that maelstrom, and bring out his abilities with reasoned intent.
One of the reasons he’s so quiet is that he prefers to think about what he’s going to say before he says it. Interestingly, when he doesn’t think first, he tends to say something that is probably best left unsaid (often embarrassing himself in the process). Put the most simply, he’s more a listener than a speaker. When he does speak, it’s with the drawling twang common to the area he grew up in.
Background: Born deep in the woodlands of North America’s southeastern forests, Most of Marcus’s life was fairly normal, though his parents did their best to teach him and his two siblings everything they knew, in addition to what they learned in the public schools that they attended. Hair dye and contacts hid the most blatant of the three’s physical differences with the other children.
Marcus proved to be an extraordinarily quick learner, and soon outstripped those who he’d entered school with, and graduated both high school and college several years early. He applied his learning abilities to mastering blade, bow, and gun. While growing up, it wasn’t uncommon to find him either outside practicing or inside learning about other technologies. He often spent several hours simply researching how different things worked.
Using what he's learned over the years, he spent his third and fourth centuries of life just tinkering with different ideas and gadgets. This led to the creation of Talon, an energy blade (lightsaber) that uses a combination of bio- and nanotechnology to switch between the forms of the weapon's hilt and a wristband that occupies Marcus's right wrist. There are a few other items that came about during that time, though Talon is the only truly unique of them.
Having recently come to adulthood, Marcus has set out on his own. While ties to his family haven’t been completely severed, he hasn’t really spoken to them in several years, either. He set out to find his own path to follow, doing a bit of good here and there during his travels. There have been many incidents in which he’s used his abilities to save people from being hurt or killed, and the media have called him ‘Wraith’ due to the fact that he comes from nowhere, and disappears just as suddenly. No one that he’s helped has seen his face, so his actions have mostly been accomplished with a small degree of anonymity.
Hearing of the White Rose Coven and the New Moon Alliance in his travels (mostly from the Inquisition seeking to use him as a pawn in their 'crusade'), Marcus has sought them out, partly to experience something new, and partly to find something to focus on. He’s also hoping that perhaps some of the elders could provide the last few clues that would allow Marcus to gain the lost art of plane walking.
Position Applying For: Scout. Seems to be something Marcus would be fairly good at.
